Erik Howell is experienced in both narrative and documentary producing working on small projects and ones with over 100 people on set.

AI Artist​​
Erik has embraced and learned AI tools such as Midjourney for image creation, Runway Labs and Minimax for AI animation and lip-syncing as well as Eleven Labs for AI generated Voices. Erik has created several short films entirely with the use of AI, enhancing the traditional storytelling process. His work has been awarded in AI film festivals, and he has been recruited for work by studios such as TCL+ See his AI Work page for examples of his AI creations.

Editing/Story Producing
Erik is highly skilled in AVID editing and Adobe Premiere Pro. He is familiar with the post workflow both online and offline. He has story produced and edited full episodes in AVID and has worked with several producers as an editor creating sizzles, and unairable pilots.

Show Development
With over ten years working in a development office/production company, Erik is very familiar with the process of researching, casting, creating show bibles, the preproduction of a development sizzle, the production of an unairable pilot, and the delivery of all final projects to a network.
Biography
Raised in Las Vegas, New Mexico, Erik graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Bachelor’s Degree in film studies. It was there in 2007 he was honored with an ‘Emerging Filmmaker Award’ from Las Vegas’s own CineVegas Film Festival, founded by the late Dennis Hopper. After graduating, Erik decided to pursue his Masters of Fine Arts at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. He graduated in May 2012, after directing over 10 projects including ones funded by USC and his own thesis film.

After graduating, Erik co-directed and edited an independent feature documentary titled Impossible Dreamers about senior citizens who love to exercise and live life to its fullest. This documentary streamed on Netflix and can now be found on Amazon.
Soon after the completion of this film, Erik began working in television and has done every role from developing show ideas, to filming and editing both development sizzles and full series episodes.

Erik currently resides in Lakewood, California with his wife and dog.
